It is with delight and gratitude that I welcome you to my web site.

My name is Gavin Young and as a Spiritual Life Coach I partner primarily with BabyBoom/GenX men and women. My practice is ecumenical and all-inclusive. All religions, denominations and spiritual traditions are welcome.

Together, over a period of time, we will explore the various compartments of your life. Based on mutual trust, we will create a spirituality within those compartments that will ultimately lead to a new understanding and wholeness. My focus is to enhance all areas of your life through spiritual integration.

Happy Chinese New Year, New Moon and a Blessed Lent.
Dear Friends,

Winter is definitely here in southern Oregon, and I love this "cocooning time," the starkness of the landscape, the occasional dusting of snow reaching us in the valley, the snow covered hills surrounding me. It is quiet and contemplative here and I live my life within those confines. But what beautiful confines! The mountains, the forest, rivers and lakes and I see the hand of the Creator all around me.

I have been listening to Annie Lennox’s new CD, "Songs of Mass Destruction", as well as the first solo CD of Heart’s Ann Wilson entitled "Hope & Glory" (yes, I was a child of the '70s and '80s). They’re both really strong musical statements as only these two women can sing it. Each is worth the investment (buy them used on Amazon for next to nothing). I’d also like to pass along some Websites I’ve found interesting. They are as follows:
www.oculatum.com
www.jomalone.com
www.BewitchingWays.com
www.thejeffcenter.org
www.tcpc.org
www.byki.com
and finally, www.riocaliente.com. Have fun surfing!

Lastly, I’m reading Shakespeare’s play, "All’s Well That Ends Well." A must read, folks, and a really cool way to sharpen the mind. In fact, if anyone is interested, I have an article by a scientist on the effects that reading Shakespeare has on the brain. Email me and I’ll forward you a copy.

Well, the days are beginning to get longer, but it’s still very clearly that gestation time when the Earth sleeps. Winter makes me introspective. How about you? Who made resolutions this year? I know I did, but rather than calling them "resolutions," I’m calling them "Life Experiences I’d Like To Have." Kind of takes the penitential overtones out of the whole procedure doesn’t it? I’m also continuing to work with the Law of Attraction and the results I’m getting (as well as my clients’ results) are astounding. We really are what we think we are, and as Louise Hay once said, "A thought is just a thought and a thought can be changed." So, make a promise to yourself that you’ll try your best to watch your "self-talk" this year. We sabotage ourselves all the time and don’t even realize we’re doing it.

I was talking to a friend early this morning who’s an electrician and I told him I was writing a few paragraphs for the front page of my Website. I asked him, if he were visiting my site for the first time, what would he want to know about me? He said, "That I’m valued and that I’m heard; that my contribution matters and means something." I think on some level we’re all looking for this. Wouldn’t you agree? Valuing others, hearing others and affirming others are the keystones that build a peaceful world. If each of us committed to this kind of behavior (and it takes work), we’d be building a whole new world bit by bit. Imagine it! So, the second promise I’m going to ask you to make is to value others, hear others and affirm others. This, in combination with watching your self-talk, will reap you instant rewards. You watch. You wait. You’ll see.

Some changes have been afoot here at Whitehawk Spirit Coaching. First of all, I’d like to introduce my new assistant, Glenda Glayzer, who hails from sunny southern California. My dear assistant, Monica, who was with me from the beginning, went back to work full-time and together we hand picked Glenda with whom I get along like two peas in a pod. I couldn’t have asked for a more adroit and spiritually like-minded co-collaborator.

Secondly, I recently completed shooting on an upcoming series on executive and spiritual life coaching called The World Report Series. Public Television distribution is scheduled to begin in mid April and I will be one of the featured life coaches. My segment is being prepared for prime time national TV, as well as every PBS station in the country and all the major news channels. It will even be broadcast on Voice of America. I will be sending out a special email alerting you to the exact date and time of the show so you can tune in and cheer me on; and please be sure to tell your friends, family, colleagues and associates to watch it as well. Please help me spread the word; there are so many confused, angry, hurting people out there longing for safe harbor…

Thirdly, I’m working on two large articles (one on what a spiritual life coach actually does, and the second on the biggest spiritual dilemmas facing BabyBoomers today and how they can be overcome). Watch for both articles here on my Website. I’m also hoping to shortly launch the online "Spirit Community" (we need five brave members in order to start the community). If you haven’t visited my Website in awhile, please have a look at some of the changes we’ve made. There’s further information about the Whitehawk Spirit Community here.

On another note, I am discontinuing my quarterly free round table teleseminar on "Identifying and Overcoming Spiritual Obstacles". The next seminar I’ll be giving via bridge line will be entitled "What to do When Life Deals You a 'Body Blow'." You will receive an email confirmation of the date, time, phone number and passcode when you sign up on my website. The seminar will last about an hour. The date is to be determined.

I’m reaching onward and upward, friends, in 2008. And I’m affirming abundance, prosperity and good health for each of you. By the way, I may also be starting a forum in the not too distant future, so look for that on my site (I want to hear from you!), and, thanks to Glenda, GavinYoung.com will soon be up and running and will devoted solely to the dissemination of information products.

This letter, too, will change every few months, so keep your eyes peeled. It will not, however, replace my newsletter, the next edition of which you will receive at Spring Equinox. Till then, peace be with you; I believe in you; you are loved.

Gavin
